5. Creative Task

Besides those four language skills tasks, the researcher developed one additional task, entitled Let’s Play. The tasks were designed to create freer and more complex activities that combine two or more language skills tasks. The focus was to develop fluency in both oracy related to language expressions and literacy competences related to functional written texts. The examples of the activities were playing games, singing, watching videos, making craft, and simple role paying. The portion of the tasks was 10 for grammar, 15 for vocabulary, 10 for Listening, 25 for speaking, 15 for reading, and 25 for writing. The researcher gave more portions for speaking and writing because the researcher found that the students needed more practices in performing, presenting, or producing spoken and written texts. The types of activity and the organization of the tasks are presented in Table 4.16.
