Data Collection Research Procedure

3. Population and Sample

The population for this study was 30 data which consists of food and beverage product labels from imported products. All the data were analyzed.

4. Data Analysis

There were two steps used in order to answer and analyze the problem formulations showed in the first chapter. First, to find out the translation readability of words and phrases related to imported food and beverage product labels from source text into target text, and the data were sorted and arranged in the table. And then the data were assessed through the questionnaires by using the readability theory and score which was made based on M.R Nababan translation indicator assessment on “Strategi Kualitas Terjemahan” in Jurnal Linguistik Bahasa. The readability was determined based on Nababan’s readability indicator and score. Second, to find out the translation strategies applied in the translating process, the translation strategies proposed by Suryawinata were used in this study. The example of the analysis table as follows: No Code Data Readable Score Translation Strategy 1 7TTF7 Mie Instan Rasa Kimchi 1 Transliteration Readability score 1 indicates that the translation is readable, and then the strategy applied is Transliteration. The translation strategy was analyzed by using Suryawinata and Hariyanto ’s classification. 25

The strategies applied to help the researcher to find how readable the translation from Source Text ST into Target Text TT is.
