3. Stating Learning Objectives

After stating the standard competence, topics, and basic competence the writer formulated the learning objective of each skill and topic. In this study, the specific learning objectives were stated as Indicators. The formulation of indicators for each topic was presented in Table 4.3. The students are able to:  Describe the generic structure of a narrative text.  Describe what fable is.  Use the gambit in order to request and give explanation  Use Simple Past in writing a narrative  Write a fable considering its generic structure  Make a portfolio 2 Fairy Tale The students are able to:  Identify the generic structure of a fairy tale  List the words meaning in the fairy tale  Describe what fairy tale is.  Use the gambit in order to ask and give opinion  Use adjectives in writing a narrative  Write a fairy tale in groups considering its generic structure  Present the fairy tale they wrote using pictures.

3 Pourquoi Tale

The students are able to:  Arrange the paragraphs into a good story  Identify the generic structure of a the story  Discuss the words meaning in the pourquoi tale  Describe what pourquoi tale is.  Tell the linguistic features of narrative direct speech and writer’s point of view  Use the gambit in order to express agreement and disagreement  Use the noun phrase correctly in writing a narrative  Write a pourquoi tale with a partner considering its generic structure. The students are able to:  Identify the generic structure of a myth.  Discuss the words meaning in the myth  Describe what myth is.  Use the gambit in order to request restating and restate  Use modals corectly past form in writing a narrative  Write a summary of the story 5 Horror Story The students are able to:  List the words meaning in the horror story  Write sentences using the difficult words found  Describe what horror story is.  Use the gambit in order to ask and offer advice  Use conjunction correctly in writing a narrative  Use time transition words appropriately in writing narrative  Write the continued of the story

6 Short Story

The students are able to:  Discuss the words meaning in the short story  Write questions from the short story and answer other’s questions  Describe what short story is.  Use the gambit in order to interrupt, illustrate and correct themselves  Use direct speech in writing a narrative  Write a story based on the comic strip or pictures individually

7 Romance

The students are able to:  Discuss the words meaning in the romance  Describe what romance is.  Use the gambit in order to ask for clarification and check understanding  Use past continuous correctly in writing a narrative  Mention the types of narrative  Write a romance in groups

8 Legend
