V. SIMPULAN DAN SARAN

5.1 SIMPULAN

Hasil uji aplikasi BAL keempat formula yogurt menunjukkan bahwa yogurt F3 yang terdiri dari L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, dan L. fermentum memperlihatkan penampakan yang terbaik serta didukung dengan nilai pH yang mendekati pH yogurt komersial. Dengan demikian, formula yogurt sinbiotik F3 merupakan formula terbaik yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi produk pangan alternatif untuk menjaga kesehatan saluran pencernaan. Uji in vivo pada tikus memperlihatkan bahwa pemberian yogurt sinbiotik F3 mampu mencegah diare. Hal ini diperlihatkan dari analisis kadar air feses menunjukkan bahwa yogurt sinbiotik F3 mampu mempertahankan kondisi tubuh agar tetap sehat yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai kadar air feses tikus kelompok yogurt sinbiotik yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan kadar air feses tikus kelompok kontrol negatif . Uji Imunomodulator pada organ tikus percobaan memperlihatkan bahwa yogurt sinbiotik F3 mampu meningkatkan respon imun yang ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan jumlah limfosit limpa pada hari ke-14. Yogurt sinbiotik juga mampu menurunkan tingkat stress oksidatif pada organ hati yang ditunjukkan dari konsentrasi MDA hati yang rendah pada hari ke-14 dan hari ke-21 dan aktivitas SOD hati dan ginjal yang lebih tinggi dibanding tikus yang diberikan EPEC pada hari ke- 14. Namun yogurt sinbiotik terpilih belum menunjukkan efek yang nyata pada kadar MDA ginjal.

5.2 SARAN
