Second Meeting Lesson Plan Topic: Invitation
Standard Competencies: To understand meaning in transactional and interpersonal conversation in the context
daily life
Basic Competencies: To respond meaning in simple formal and informal transactional to get things done and
interpersonal socialize conversation accurately, fluently and acceptable that using simple discourse in various daily life contexts and involves expression of surprise,
disbelieve, and accepting invitation and offer
Indicators:
- Students are able to identify the context of the situation.
- Students are able to identify the meaning of agreeing an invitation.
- Students are able to respond the expression of agreeing an invitation.
- Students are able to make an invitation card based on the situation.
- Students are able to identify expressions used for accepting an invitation.
- Students are able to identify expressions used for refusing an invitation.
Teaching Learning Sequence A.
Introduction
- Teacher greets the students.
- Teacher opens the lesson by praying.
- Teacher states today lesson’s objectives which are able to make an invitation, accept,
and refuse an invitation. -
Teacher asks students trivia questions about invitation.
B. Whilst Activities
- Students in the same groups like the previous share their knowledge about how to
invite, make an invitation card, and their experience about inviting people. -
Teacher explains about general knowledge about making invitation. -
Teacher explains the steps of making an invitation. -
Students in groups must be able to know the knowledge given by the teachers. So the group member will help those who have difficulties or do not have sufficient
knowledge. Teacher will give quiz individually about how to make an invitation and the group score is the sum of all quiz score in the individual quiz.

Groups are given different situation and asked to make an invitation based on those situations.
- Teacher explains about accepting or refusing an invitation.
- Groups are asked to make a reply about accepting and refusing the invitation. So the
group leader will divide the job, two students will make a reply about accepting the invitation and others about refuse the invitation.
- Teacher asks some groups representatives to invite the students in class using the
invitation that they have already made. -
The class will decide which one is the most interesting one.
C. Closing
- Teacher reviews today lesson.
- Teacher closes the lesson by praying.

E. Evaluation and Assessment
Students are assessed based on their completeness in making the invitation, whether appropriate or not with the given situation also the grammar and the structure of the
