CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
In this chapter, the writer presents the summary and some suggestions for English teachers or lectures and future researchers who would like to use or
implement this design.
A. Conclusion
The objectives of the study were to design authentic listening materials based on KTSP for the tenth grade students of SMAN 7 Yogyakarta and to
present the design. There were two questions in this study to answer. The questions were:1 How is a set of authentic English Instructional listening
materials based on Kurikulum Satuan Tingkat Pendidikan for the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 designed? 2 What does the designed set of English
Instructional listening materials based on KTSP look like?
1. The Answer to the First Question
In order to answer the first question, the writer conducted a study that was survey research consisting a set of questionnaires and informal interviews. The
first stage was gathering the data for needs analysis then designing the instructional materials, testing it then revised the designs by asking experts’
comments and evaluations. The second stage was revising the overall design based
on the
evaluations administered.
The experts
gave feedback,
82 recommendation and evaluation about the design. The study was aimed to gather
data for the needs analysis as the starting point of implementing the theories of instructional design. In answering the first problem, the writer employed and
adopted instructional design theories by Kemp and theories of Cooperative Learning. This design is based on KTSP and the proposed teaching methodology
was the Cooperative Learning. The process of the design consisted of six steps namely,1 Identifying the Entry Behaviors 2 Stating the Standard Competencies
3 Stating the Basic Competencies 4Listing the indicators 5 Selecting and Developing the Instructional Materials and 6 Evaluating the Designed Materials.
2. The Answer to the Second Question
After the evaluation, the final presentation of a set of authentic listening materials based KTSP for the tenth grade of SMAN 7 Yogyakarta was the answer
of the second question. There are 8 units in the design materials, syllabus, lessons plans, teachers’ note and CD for the recorded materials. The 8 units are:

83 In each unit there are some activities in an arrangement. The activities were:
Brainstorming, Vocabulary Enforcement, Listening, Group Discussion and Assignments, Topic Developments, Lets Write, Lets Read and Reflection. There
are some pictures and logo as the guidance for the activities in each unit. The arrangement of activities is different from one unit to another unit.
