Then in the each topic students will do various activities that can be divided into three major activities, pre-activities, whilst activities, and post
activities. Those three activities can be divided into some steps that arrange the teaching learning activities. Those steps are chosen to help students to learn
systematically so that they can learn from the simple one to the more complex activities. In the designed set, not all topics in the same steps or in the same order
but consisted these steps. The steps are mentioned in the each topic. The steps serve as consideration for the teachers about activities than can be used.
6. Evaluating the Designed Materials
In order to evaluate the designed materials, the writer spread questionnaire to the English teachers in SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta and some lecturers in the
English Language education study program and conducted informal interviews. The respondents gave their opinion, suggestions, feedbacks, and recommendations
for the designed materials by answering questions in the questionnaire and in the range of points of agreement.

B. The Results of the Survey Study Administered to Evaluate the Overall Designed Set of Listening Materials
In this chapter will discuss the evaluation of the overall design. The evaluation was conducted by giving questionnaire to experts and users of the
design. In the questionnaire, the respondents gave their opinion, suggestion,
recommendation and evaluation by answering questions in the questionnaire to improve the overall design. The writer also conducted informal interview with the
experts and users to gain additional information outside the questionnaire about the overall designs.
1. The Description of the Respondents
The respondents for this survey were three persons. Two of them were teachers that teach the tenth grade and one English Lecturer in Sanata Dharma
University. The first person was Dra. Zululana, English teacher in SMAN 7 Yogyakartra. The second person was Dra. Widya Astuti, English teacher in
SMAN 7 Yogyakarta. The third person was Mr. JB. Gunawan MBA, English lecturer in Sanata Dharma University.
Dra. Zululana has been taching the tenth grade for two years and she knows well the condition of the students. She is also one of the sources in the data
gathering process in the need analysis. Dra. Widya Astuti is the one who teaches the tenth grade especially in the skills such as speaking and listening. She has
already been teaching for twenty years so she has the sufficient experience in giving the feedback in overall design.
74 Mr. Gunawan is a lecture of English Education Study Program whose
teaching specialty is in Education subjects such as Instructional Design and Curriculum Material Development. Considering the educational background of
Mr. Gunawan, it is obvious that the feedbacks given by him are valid and reasonable as well as helpful.
