of the first clause is nothing. The first clause assigns the human participant into the recipient role. This might be interpreted that the human character is marginalized.
In the second clause, the human character is represented as the doer. He does something. However, the goal is also nothing.
The powerlessness is supported also by the clauses that represents the human characters performance of doing and happening. Of course, human
characters in the folktales are not totally depicted as powerless or weak. Nevertheless, the human characters are able to do some doing activities of their
habits and duties at work. Yet, this representation might be similar to the topic of submissiveness to customs since duties are close to customs.

The clauses in table 4.15 presents the examples of clauses in which the human actors perform activities of doing and happening. The activities belong to
the human actors’ job or duties. In the first clause, the actor is a participant of the
activity catch. The other participant takes the role of scope. The scope is taken by
all the fish. The performance of catching fish is common for a fisherman. Thus, the
actor might not be said as powerful since that is common. Otherwise, if a fisherman is unable to catch a fish, he might be considered as unskilled fisherman.

The material processes represent the customs and society members submissiveness by assigning the processes with the participants that are related to
