The chart above shows the equivalence average score of the respondents. This average score is taken from the data of average score of the respondents. The
average score of Respondent 1 R1 is 1.64, R2 is 1.36, and R3 is 1.24. This chart suggests that the
translation of DMs in Nicholas Sparks‟ Safe Haven still leaves a problem, because there are some data considered as not equivalent by the
respondents. From the Chart 4.2., it can be concluded that the background of the
respondents can influence the result of equivalence score. Respondent 1 R1 works as a translator while Respondent 2 R2 and Respondent 3 R3 are
lecturers.

The data on the chart above are classified based on their functions as disourse markers. Based on the chart above, out of 25 samples, there are eight data
of DM as discourse connector considered as equivalent and five data as not equivalent, one datum of DM as confirmation-seekers considered equivalent, one
datum of DM as intimacy-signals considered equivalent, one datum of DM as topic-switchers considered equivalent and one datum considered not equivalent,
two data of DM as hesitation markersfillers considered equivalent and two data as not equivalent, two data of DM as repair marker considered equivalent, and one
datum of DM as attitude marker considered equivalent and one datum as not equivalent.
B. Readability Translation
There are 25 samples that are assessed in this part. The result for the readability assessment is 1.3 which is categorized as readable translation. This
part is divided into two parts, which are readable translation and quite readable translation. There are some tables of data as a representative.

As shown in the table above, the DM then in SL is translated into kalau begitu
in TL. This datum is scored 1.1 readable for the average score. Nine
respondents give score 1 readable and one respondent gives score 2 quite readable. It means the translation of the DM and the discourse is easily
understood by nine respondents and they do not get confused when they read the text. Thus, this datum is still considered as readable.
