At a Specific Time
9.3.2.1.2.1.12 At a Specific Time
Five occurrences are attested of indicating a specific time at which the next event occurred. The first four specify a specific time of day such as midnight, the morning watch, or noon. The fifth uses an expression with an infinitive construct to specify the time of the next event: 5 , at the beginning of their living there. At midnight the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of cattle. Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead.
