87 summary format because this format helped the lecturers to measure students’
understanding and to take solutions for the problem. Submission, scoring and class discussion were cycle processes to evaluate students’ work.
3. How Worksheets Enhance Students’ Independence in Learning
From the findings, it was concluded that worksheets could be used as media to enhance students’ independence in learning since worksheets have
values to form students into the independent ones. The significances of worksheets for independent learning were:
a To form student’s habit to become less dependent to others in making
decision and taking the actions initiative and proactive, b
To sharpen student’s individual and social competencies through individual work and group work,
c To grow student’s maturity dealing with taking responsibility for every
decision and action, especially for the learning, d
To dig out student’s potentials in reading, presenting, leadership skill, and entrepreneur skills,
e To foster student’s self-evaluation ability so they can see their weaknesses
and strengths inside.
B. Suggestions
The implementation of worksheets in teaching-learning process had some implications. As mentioned in the implication above, the researcher would like to
give suggestions for the students, lecturers and future researchers.
88
1. For the students
a. The students are suggested to motivate themselves for their own learning
especially in working on worksheets, since they already have positive perception and awareness on it.
b. The students need to form the habit of independence in any actions they
take so they will be ready to work individually or in group. c.
The students should be able to find the information about the topic from any sources, not only depend on the lecturers.
2. For the lecturers
a. The lecturers are suggested to be creative in conducting the learning
process to avoid students’ boredom of worksheets and students’ laziness because of difficult learning materials.
b. The lecturers should be able to set good teaching-learning techniques
focusing in forming students’ independence and active participation in learning process.
c. The lecturers are expected to find simpler learning sources, or if it is
impossible, it is better for the lecturers to deliver the material clearly and using simple language.
3. For the future researchers
The future researchers who are willing to discuss the use of worksheets in teaching learning process can focus more on the use of worksheets as test
89 preparation or assessment media. It is because there are broad topics to discuss
and research since worksheets also have values as assessment.
