V. KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN 5.1 Kesimpulan
Pemberian tepung sorgum pada ransum kelompok S50 50 sumber karbohidrat berasal dari sorgum dan S100 100 sumber karbohidrat berasal
dari sorgum mampu menunjukkan penghambatan pada perkembangan kanker kolon akibat induksi AOM-DSS. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh aktivitas
enzim β-glucoronidase yang lebih rendah dan ekspresi enzim kaspase-3 yang
secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan K+. Hasil tersebut juga ditunjang dari perbaikan profil histopatologi dari organ kolon, hati, dan ginjal serta nilai
konsumsi ransum rata-rata kelompok S50 dan S100 yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan K+. Adapun kelompok S100 memiliki penurunan pH feses
serta peningkatan total asam lemak rantai pendek dan total butirat yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok S50 dan K+. Hanya saja pemberian sorgum
pada kelompok S50 dan S100 tidak meningkatkan ekspresi CD4 secara signifikan dibandingkan kelompok K+. Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan
bahwa pemberian sorgum pada ransum kelompok S100 lebih baik dalam menghambat perkembangan kanker kolon dibandingkan pada kelompok S50.
Hal ini menandakan bahwa penggunaan 100 sumber karbohidrat yang berasal dari sorgum sosoh 50 sangat baik untuk dikonsumsi.
5.2 Saran
Untuk melihat kemampuan sorgum dalam mencegah karsinogenesis kolon, perlu dilakukan pengujian in vivo dengan memberikan tepung sorgum
pada mencit sebelum diberikan induksi AOM-DSS. Untuk memastikan pengaruh ALRP terhadap jenis bakteri yang tumbuh pada kolon perlu
dilakukan pengujian bakteri asam laktat pada sampel isi kolon. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan analisis keberadaan sel T sitotoksik Tc dan sel natural
killer, sebagai sel imun yang berpengaruh langsung dalam membunuh sel-sel kanker.
