T suffix “itas” in Mobilitas is the result of the adjustment of suffix “ity” from the
word Mobility in the TL. According to the rule, suffix “ity” is absorbed and
adjusted into “itas” so that the translator translates the word Mobility in SL
becomes Mobilitas in TL.
3. The Translation Method Used to Translate the English Loan Words in the Indonesian Version of Novel
Based on the analysis that has been done, there are two types of translation method used in the translation of Angels and Demons from SL to Malaikat dan
Iblis in TL. The translation methods used are translation method close to SL and
translation method close to TL. Each method has more categorization as follows:
a. The Translation Method Closer to SL
Based on the analysis, almost all data are translated using method closer to SL. The translation method is divided into three types; literal translation, faithful
translation and semantic translation method. However, almost all loan words are translated using literal translation method. Example of translation method closer

Those examples are, eclectic, nucleus, phase from SL translates into target language by using literal translation method. The three of word are translated into
the nearest meaning in the target language that makes equal. According to the data table, the literal translation method is used 94 times to
translate the loan word while the other two methods are not used.
b. The Translation Method Closer to TL
Another method that is also used to translate the English loan word is the method closer to the target language. There are four categorizations of the
translation method closer to TL, namely free translation, adaptation, idiomatic and communicative translation. Example of the translation method closer to TL is as

All examples above are translated using communicative translation. It is meant to give the most comprehensible meaning to the reader in TL. In short
words, the communicative translation method is used 9 times to translated loan words from SL to TL. It is translation method that tries to create the exact
contextual meaning of the original in such way that both content and language are readily
acceptable and
comprehensible to
the readership.
