After the writer specified the learning objectives, the writer did the next step which is about selecting the subject
content
for the supplementary material design. In this study, the writer divided the content into five parts. For the
additional part of the supplementary book, the writer already provided the word bank for each unit. The word bank was located before the “Let’s Get Started” part
at the beginning of each unit. It was consisted the vocabulary which discussed in the units.
The other five parts of each unit in supplementary material were Let’s Get
Started , Let’s Focus, Let’s Review, Fun Time and Did You Know. The
explanations of the subject contents are as follows.
a. Let’s Get Started
This part was the pre-activities which contained the warm-up activities that were related to the learning topic. In this part, the students were directed to
some activities which presented the introduction of the learning topic. This introduction’s activities were aimed to prepare students in learning the main focus
of every units of the supplementary book. There were various activities in this part
66 which presented in a form of pictures, text, exercises or vocabulary introduction.
The students’ activities contained of individual, partners, and group activities. For warm-up activities, the students were encouraged to enhance their knowledge
before their learn more about the learning topic.
b. Let’s Focus
This part focus on the language focus which contained the language focuses in each unit. The writer also added some learning activities and exercises
which were related to the language focus of the topic. The purposed was to practice the students
’ English skills. On the supplementary material book, the writer focus on the learning activity and exercises which were explained as
follows.
1 Infographic
There were three focuses in every topic of the supplementary material book which are grammar, expressions, and the text genre. For grammar, it focused
on the grammatical features that were used on the expression or text. For expressions, there were the lists of the expressions which were helped the students
in expressing their ideas or their opinion and also their opinion in conversation. This part also focused on the text genre. It described the format of the text and the
example of it. The language focuses of the supplementary book were aimed to explain the language focus of the topic in every unit which were taken from the
syllabus’ indicators. These were presented in a form of infographic which were contained of color and also some graphics picture, table in the
material’s explanation.

2 Activity
There were some activities that help students in understanding the learning material. To make it easy to be learned, the writer used some activities which
were formulated from the real-life situations. There were various activities in this part of supplementary book which were divided in some aspects as follows:
a Individual work. This activity consisted some of activities which
focused on individual work. The individual work was consisted of various exercises which allowed the students to practice English individually.
b Pair work and group work. This activity was consisted of two or more
students and expected to express their ideas and opinion. On the other way, students were trained to listen and accept other ideas or opinion in
partner or group. In the end of this activity, the students would get the purpose of this activity. They would understand the importance of working
as a group through the learning activities. Most of the activities would be in speaking activities which consists some conversation and also some
reading comprehension.
c Speaking Listening. In the speaking and listening parts, the students
were expected to practice the conversation and their listening skill using
the language focus with a partner or in group. d Reading.
In the reading part, the students were expected to understand
the reading text.
