CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

This chapter consists of two parts, namely conclusions and suggestions. In the conclusions part, the writer gives some of conclusions of the study. In the suggestion part the writer gives some suggestions for the teachers, the students and the future researchers.

For this study, the writer only took five out to ten steps of research and development and six steps from Kemp ’s instructional media design. The writer found that both of these theories were related. The writer made research model steps which were adapted from the combination of both theories. First step was pre-design survey and data analysis 83 research and information collecting which identified the learner’s characteristic and need by developing the pre-assessments in a form of questionnaire to the participant of this study. The participants were two classes of the seventh grader of BOPKRI 1 Junior High School. The second step was planning the designed material contents planning. In this step, the writer considered the goals, topics and general purposes that the writer needed for the supplementary book material. After planning the contents, the writer did the third step which was designing the designed material develop preliminary of product. In designing the designed material, the writer specified the learning objectives, listed the subject content and selected the teaching and learning activities for the supplementary book. The fourth step was post-deign survey and designed material evaluation preliminary field testing. The designed material was evaluated by some of evaluators who had experience in teaching English. The last step was revising the deigned material Main product revision. In this step, the writer revised the designed material based on the evaluators ’ suggestions and comments on the supplementary material. For the second research problem, the writer gave the presentation of the designed material. The title of the supplementary book is English Splash. This book contained four main contents Word Bank , Let’s Get Started, Let’s Focus, and Let’s Review and two additional contents Fun Time and Did You Know.
