including increasing concentration and problem solving Handriyantini, 2009. Educative game is one of media type used to deliver instruction,
increasing users’s knowledge through a unique and exciting media. Based on description above, it can be concluded that educative game is one of
games that can be useful to support teaching and learning process be more fun and be more creative, and used to give instruction or increasing
users’s knowledge through an exciting media.
b. Types of Game
Henry 2010: 111 divided game into several types are as follows: 1
Maze game This type of game is the earliest game type appears. This game is
using maze related hallways in its operations. This game’s examples
are Pacman and Digger. 2
Board game This game type is equal to traditional board games such as
Monopoly but this game only played on computer. This game more emphasis to the ability of computer as rival player and need the ability
of AI Artificial Intelligence that are reliable to make the player feel challenged by this game.
3 Card game
Card game type is similar to board game type such as the original traditional games. The different is only the variations of multiplayer
capability and more attractive display than traditional version. This game’s examples is Solitaire and Hearts.
4 Battle card game
Example of this game is Batlle Card Pokemon but this game genre is rarely exist in Indonesia.
5 Quiz game
This type of game such as Who wants to be a millionaire. Operation of this game is quite simple, players only need to choose
correct answer from the multiple choice answers. 6
Puzzle game This game type give a challenge to players by dropping or
eliminate something from the top to bottom or from left to right and variations of movement. Examples of this game type are Tetris and
Zuma. 7
Shoot them up This game type is favorite game because it is easy to play. Usually
players’s enemy is like plane or any other kind that comes from the top, left or right that to be destroyed by the players using gunfire.
