According to Rusman 2009:173, learning media can be classified as follows: 1 From the character, media can be divided into : a Visual Media Visual media is media that can only viewed by using sight senses which consists of projected media and non-projected media such as motionless images or moving images. b Auditif Media Auditif media is media that has messages in auditif form which can stimulate mind, feelings, concerns and willingness of students to studying learning materials. c Audiovisual Media Audiovisual media is media which is combination of audio and visual or commonly called view-heard media. 2 From media range ability, media can be divided into: a Media has power to cover widely and simultaneously. b Media has power to cover limited by space and time. 3 From the way or techniques of usage, the media can be divided into: a Projected media b Not projected media Meanwhile, learning media according to the taxonomy of Leshin, et al 1992 in Arsyad 2011: 81-101: 1 Human based media This media is useful, especially if our goal is to changes attitudes or want to directly involving with student learning monitoring. 2 Print based media Examples of print based media are textbook, handbook, journals, magazines, and loose sheets. Several methods used to attract attention in media based text are color, font, and box 3 Visual based media Visual media are used to facilitate understanding and reinforce memory. Visual can improve students ’s interest and can give relationship between the content of subject materials with the real world. Visual media examples are images, diagrams, maps, and graphs. 4 Audio visual based media Produce visual media that using sound need additional work. One of additional work is writing a script and creating a storyboard. 5 Computer based media Computer role as an extra helper in learning is for presenting subject material content information, exercise, or both of them, are called CAI Computer Asisted Instruction. CAI supports learning and exercise but learning and exercise is not main transmitter of learning materials.
