students produced this expression. It has been found that there were 2 utterances of pacifying presenting 0.2. The first example is the conversation between Sri

the experience of using different kind of mouse, especially for the wireless one. Before Maria explained in detail, she expressed Don’t worry to make her calm. In
this conversation, Sri thought that the mouse was like the laptop. When she used the mouse all the time, she would get the power of the mouse low. Therefore,
Maria tried to calm her and described the mouse specifically. The second example is the conversation produced by the other couple of
female students, Star and Hayu. In their conversation, Star was the person who always tried to pacify Hayu. The example of the conversation is in the following

Ap429-32 Excerpt 31 describes that Hayu felt doubts about her job later if she had
finished her study in the graduate program. In this case, Star attempted to make Hayu calm by using the words Temporary feeling. Star believed that Hayu could
deal with her problem and get into the spirit of achieving her future.
16. Encouraging
The expression of encouraging is to give support to someone. The data shows that there were 2 utterances of encouraging with 0.2, and only the couple
of female students produced it. The following is one of the examples of the conversation.

Based on the context, it can be interpreted that Hayu expressed her feeling and she seemed a bit down. Before finishing her words, Star gave encouragement
by saying Maybe you have to challenge yourself. This expression is to give motivation that Hayu could cope with her problem dealing with class condition
and friends.
17. Sympathizing
The expression of sympathizing describes that people understand what others feel. The finding shows that only the couple of female students used this
expression. It has been found that there were 2 utterances of sympathizing presenting 0.2. The excerpt of the conversation can be illustrated in excerpt 33.

: Hayu shared her feeling about her class with new friends in education stream.
Hayu : But then, ehm…it’s not – I’m – it is not that I’m
underrating this class or trying to be judgmental, but = You know sometimes when you’re not with the people
