C. Review of The Related Studies

There are many studies in analyzing speech through pragmatics. One of them is the research conducted by Annisa Laura Maretha, a Sarjana Pendidikan degree student of English Education Department of State University of Yogyakarta, in 2012 entitled “A Pragmatic Analysis Of President William “Bill” Jefferson Clinton’s Apology Speeches I Misled And I Have Sinned ”.
