68 applicable to the students. Finally, after revising the materials, the writer was able
to make the final version of the materials. Furthermore, in order to answer the second problem, the writer presents a set
of reading instructional materials. There are eight units of reading instructional materials. The designed materials could be seen in the last part of Appendices. In
each unit, the teaching learning activities consist of three stages. They are: Building Knowledge of the Field, Modeling of the Text
, and Independent Construction of the Text
.
B. SUGGESTIONS
There are some suggestions to be proposed: 1. Since the study results showed that the developed set of reading materials is
appropriate as instructional materials to teach reading using constructivist learning for Language Program Students year XI, the teacher can use the
developed set of reading instructional material to supplement the main textbook in order to improve the students’ comprehension skill especially reading skill.
However, the teacher who intends to apply the designed materials should have some preparation before applying the designed materials in the classroom. The
teacher should comprehend the syllabus, the lesson plan, the designed materials and also the teacher’s notes.
2. In conducting this research, the writer only designs the materials and doesn’t implement them. Therefore, the writer recommends the future researchers to
implement the designed materials. It will be better for the future researchers to make some improvements in the designed materials.
