d. Respondents’ Comments and Suggestions on the Designed Materials
Besides evaluating the design set of materials, the respondents also provided their evaluation, comments, suggestions, and feedback which were
important to improve and make the final version of the materials. The detail evaluation, comments, suggestions, and feedback from the respondents are
described as follows. In general, the respondents stated that the materials were well
developed, creative, sufficient, and interesting. They also mentioned that the materials have covered the speaking skill which is the main skill in the

very attractive, colorful and well organized. Moreover, the materials was also designed in line with the learners’
needs, which was reflected from the appropriate expressions in each topic, and the materials were reader-friendly easy to read. The good titling in each
topic, the appropriate information on cultural notes, and almost no grammar mistakes helped the learners to understand the instructions clearly.
However, the materials needed some improvements to develop the designed materials. The following are suggestions and feedback from the
respondents. 1
The writer should mention the learners’ level since in practice, it is terribly necessary.
2 The syllabus and lesson plans have been well arranged and understandable but there were some mistyped words which might make
the learners misunderstood. 3 The exercises, the steps are various, creative, sufficient and interesting
enough. The provided information is well formulated. By improving the interactive skill in every exercise, the learners can obtain much more
improvement in practice. However, the instructions should be made clearer.
4 The writer should be careful with the social language. Many expressions in Indonesian cannot be literally translated into English.
5 There were some confusing organizations of the phrases in the table of
Keep In Mind part of each topic.
6 In the layout of the example of conversations in each topic, the receptionist part in the dialogue should be boldface typed since it may
help the Registration and Information staff’s duty.
7 There were some inconsistent abbreviations e.g. Dr or dr?. The writer should check and recheck on the grammar and spelling in order to
maintain the perfection.
8 In Use What You Have Learned part, making a role play can be time
consuming. Chronological pictures may be simpler.
