81 5 KESIMPULAN DAN SARAN

5.1 Kesimpulan

Dari penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut: a Kondisi terumbu karang di perairan Kawasan Konservasi Laut Daerah Pulau Liwutongkidi berada dalam kondisi yang baik dengan rata-rata persentase tutupan karang 50,03 dan teridentifikasi 172 individu dari 15 spesies Chaetodontidae. b Persentase tutupan karang memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan kelimpahan ikan Chaetodontidae dan spesies ikan ini memiliki kehadiran yang nyata pada kelompok habitat yang memiliki Acropora Branching ACB, namun tidak adanya kesukaan yang khas terhadap kelompok habitat dasar. Secara umum ikan Chaetodontidae menyebar ke berbagai kelompok habitat. c Rekomendasi yang diusulkan dalam pengelolaan Kawasan Konservasi Laut Daerah Pulau Liwutongkidi adalah: a Pelarangan terhadap penggunaan alat tangkap yang merusak dan kegiatan penangkapan ikan di stasiun yang tercatat memiliki persentase tutupan karang yang rendah dan indeks mortalitas yang tinggi; b perlindungan terhadap ikan Chaetodontidae, yaitu dengan tidak menangkap ikan Chaetodontidae dan mengembalikan ke habitat bagi ikan Chaetodontidae yang tertangkap; c Menjadikan Pulau Liwutongkidi sebagai tempat wisata sehingga memberikan kesempatan pengembangan mata pencaharian alternatif untuk mengurangi atau menghilangkan tekanan terhadap karang dan ikan Chaetodontidae; dan d Pemantauan dan evaluasi secara berkelanjutan terhadap kondisi karang dan ikan Chaetodontidae yang berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang.

5.2 Saran

Beberapa hal yang perlu disarankan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah : a Penelitian lanjutan terhadap selektifitas pemangsaan terhadap jenis karang yang di konsumsi oleh ikan Chaetodontidae pemangsa karang obligat dan fakultatif. 82 b Penelitian lanjutan terhadap pertumbuhan, reproduktif dan kemampuan bertahan hidup dari karang keras akibat pemangsaan dari ikan Chaetodontidae. c Penelitian terhadap efektifitas pengelolaan kawasan konservasi laut daerah berdasarkan kajian ekobiologi dari karang dan ikan karang. 66 83 DAFTAR PUSTAKA Adrim M, Hutomo M. 1989.
