Planned Band yaitu pita frekuensi untuk satelit yang telah diatur sedemikian
rupa oleh ITU agar setiap negara mendapatkan jatah slot orbit, kanal frekuensi transponder satelit dengan cakupan dibatasi pada wilayah territorial negara
tersebut. Terdapat dua macam Planned Band yaitu Broadcasting Satellite Service
BSS Plan Appendix 30 dan Appendix 30A serta Fixed Satellite Service FSS Plan Appendix 30B.
5.4.1 Pengelolaan filing Satelit Indonesia
Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika juga telah menerbitkan illing satelit bagi perusahaan untuk satelit yang dimilikinya
untuk kebutuhan usaha di sektor telekomunikasi dan informatika. Hingga Desember 2012, tercatat 40 iling satelit Indonesia yang telah didaftarkan ke
ITU. Filing Indonesia tersebut terdiri dari 37 iling unplanned band dan 3 iling planned band
