D. Content

There are four units in the designed materials. The topics of each unit are chosen based on the students’ characteristics, lacks, and the students’ needs in their academic situation. The topics are: Unit 1 : Nice to Meet You Unit 2 : May I Help You? Unit 3 : Where am I? Unit 4 : What Do You Think? In the designed materials, the activities are arranged from easy to difficult. The researcher designs the materials based on Ignatian Pedagogy. There are five steps in each unit. The steps are context of learning, experience, reflection, action, and evaluation which is describe as follows: 1. Context of Learning In this part, the researcher explores the students’ background of knowledge about the topic discussed. In this part, the students are helped by some questions as the guideline. The students are also asked to share their opinion with their friends. By sharing with their friends, they can enrich their knowledge more and they learn to respect others’ opinion. 2. Experience In this part, the students learn about the materials deeper. The students will read some explanations and some examples of dialogues. First, the students will 77 read and learn the example, and then they are given some explanations. After that, the students are asked to identify some expressions and language features of the dialogue. In this part, the students have their chance to do some exercise to apply the explanation explained before. 3. Reflection In this part, the students will answer some questions to help them reflect what they have learnt and experienced in the previous activities. The students are expected to share about their feeling in learning in pairs or group. In this part, the students share their reflection with their friends. 4. Action In this part, the students will be given some statements related to the topics, then the students give their opinions and state their action as the priesthood candidates. Then, the students are asked to make a slogan or poster to represent their opinion and the value that they got from learning in the unit. 5. Evaluation There is evaluation part in each unit in this designed material. This part is used to check the students’ understandings learning in each topic and what values that they got through learning in this unit. Then, the students share it in their group.

There are eight meetings in this lecture, and each meeting is 100 minutes.
