CHAPTER IV RESEARCH FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter describes the findings and discussions of the research. The research findings covers the needs analysis, the course grid, the unit design, the flowchart, the first draft of multimedia, the review by experts and the final draft of multimedia.

A. Research Findings

1. The Needs Analysis

The needs analysis was divided into three parts which were description of target needs, learning needs. The target needs included necessities, lacks and wants while the learning needs included input, procedures, setting, and media.

a. Description of Target Needs

1 Necessities Necessities refer to what the learner has to know in order to function effectively in the target situation. The result of needs analysis of necessities showed that 91.17 of students learned English to help them in reading textbooks. Fourteen students learned English to be able to communicate with foreign people. In relation with the subject of the textbooks, they need to learn about vocabulary in the subject of Fisika Zat Padat chapter 4 with 70.59, Fisika Zat Padat, chapter 5 with 14.70 and the rest were Fisika Zat Padat, chapter 6, Mekanika Fluida chapter 5 and Mekanika Fluida chapter 6. The result is shown in Table 4.1. below. Table 4.1.
