97.5 The Results of Need Analysis

Based on Table 4.4 above, 91.25 of the students find that pronouncing the English words correctly is difficult. In addition, their difficulty in learning English also deals with choosing and using the vocabulary in spoken and written texts. The result form questionnaire were supported by the result of the interview with some students and the English teacher, the difficulties that the students faced in learning English dealt with the vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The excerpt can be seen as follows. 3 Wants The last part in target needs is wants. Wants mean the students’ view to what their needs are Hutchinson and Waters, 1987: 56. b. Learning Needs

1 Inputs The first point in learning needs is input. According to Nunan 2004: 47, input means the spoken, written, and visual data that learners work with in the course of completing task. Input can be in the form of texts, audio, video, pictures, etc. The following tables show the result of the questionnaires related to the input for the four skills and the length of the input texts.
