G. Instrument Testing
Instrument testing is done to understand whether the composed instrument is a good instrument for a research. A good instrument should meet two
important requirements which are valid and reliable. If the instrument has been tested its validity and reliability, questions which are appropriate for collecting
data in the research will be detected. Then, instrument which is not valid will be omitted. The instrument testing will be done twice. First, the testing will be
given to students of SMK N 1 Bawang which are not the member of research sample, with 14 students from eleventh grade of accounting program and 5 of
partner institution. Validity and reliability testing in first instrument uses SPSS
program ver. 20. Second, the validity testing uses constructive validity testing about the implementation of DSE or asks experts to give judgment. The test
intended for the principal and head of DSE program at SMK Negeri 2 Bawang. Based on the validity test results against the questionnaire that have been made
instrument was declared valid. 1. Validity test
a. Corrected Item Total Correlation Validity Test validity toward instrument about customer satisfaction in this
research uses corrected item total correlation technique. Each item score and total score are correlated to correlation coefficient score which is
over-estimated. If the value of rcalculation rtable, the statement items in questionnaire have significant correlation concerning the total score
which means that the items are valid. If the value of rcalculation rtable, the items in the table have no significant correlation concerning
the total score which means that the questionnaire items are invalid. In this research, the tool to analyze validity is SPSS software 21. Based on
the internal customer satisfaction questionnaire, there are 14 respondents and for external customer satisfaction questionnaire, there are 5
respondents. It is taken from table r for n=14 in the number of 0,532 and n=5 in the number of 0,878. Therefore, the tested instrument has r
calculate r table so the instrument is considered as valid Sugiyono, 2010: 373.
The calculation result can bee seen in this table below. Table 9. Result of Student Satisfaction Instrument Validity Test on DSE

In customer satisfaction questionnaire for students, there are 55 statements which consist of 50 valid statements and 5 invalid statements.
Number 6, 14, 26, 30, and 46 are below 0.532 so those numbers are no longer used. The researcher still uses this questionnaire but omitting the
invalid items. It is reasonable because those items are represented by another item.

In the questionnaire result above for industrial and business world, there are 50 statements, 42 valid statements and 8 invalid statements.
Number 5, 8, 16, 17, 23, 29, 39, and 41 are below 0.878 so those numbers cannot be used. The researcher keeps this questionnaire in use
but omitting the invalid statements and it is reasonable because those invalid statements have been acted on behalf of another statement.

3 b. Constructive validity
Instrument constructive validity can be done with conducting validity test by asking expert to give judgment. This validity test is addressed to
measure suitability of grating instruments to outlined in indicators about what is to be measured.
2. Reliability test Reliability test is a testing method to make sure that the level of
questionnaire reliability used in research. Sugiyono 2012:168 states that a reliable instrument is an instrument that generates similar data though it is
used for many times. Reliability on customer satisfaction level instrument in SMK Negeri 1 Bawang is internal customer satisfaction which refers to
student. External customer satisfaction above is industrial and business worlds. Then, this research is computed using Alpha Cronbach method. The
computation of instrument reliability is assisted by SPSS software 21. Reliability of testing result uses measurement result using Cronbach’s Alpha
score result for each aspect. Cronbach Alpha formula is used because the instrument is a questionnaire that contains score.
Table 13. Interpretation of Reliability Coefficient Score
The value of r Interpretation
From 0.800 up to 1.00 Very high
From 0.600 up to 0.800 High
From 0.400 up to 0.600 Moderate
From 0.200 up to 0.400 Low
From 0.000 up to 0.200 Very low no correlation
Source: Riduwan et al 2009: 124 After the instrument reliability is achieved, the result is interpreted based
on the guidance. The instrument is admitted as reliable f it shows more than 0.600. However, the instrument is unreliable if it is below 0.600.
Test result reliability, measurement result with Cronbach’s Alpha score
result to students for customer satisfaction aspect is illustrated in table 14.

From the computation above, the result of student satisfaction questionnaire reliability using SPSS Softwar
e 21 with Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.954. It is more than r table 0.532 which means that research questionnaire
used to measure student satisfaction level is categorized as very high. Test result reliability, measurement test using Cronbach’s Alpha score
result with industrial and business world as respondent of customer satisfaction aspect is illustrated in table 15.

Cronbachs Alpha N of Items
0.994 50
From the data computation result above using SPSS software 21 with Cronbach’s Alpha method, it is showed that the value of 0.994 is more than
r table 0.878 which means that the research questionnaire to measure student satisfaction level is categorized as very high.
