A. Try Out the Media
The video program was tried out to the third grade students of SD IT Izzatul Islam Getasan. The try out was divided into three meetings. They are 6
th
, 7
th
, and 9
th
of January 2015. The teaching and learning process took about 90 minutes. The activities in the class were based on the course grid which could be seen on
the appendix B. Some of the moments in teaching and learning process are explained below.
1. Meeting I
The first meeting was conducted on 6
th
January 2015. There were 35 students joined the teaching and learning process. Two members of the class could not
attend the meeting because they got sick. The first meeting was discussing about food and beverages. There were three stages in the teaching and learning process.
There were pre-listening, while-listening, and post-listening. In the pre-listening, there were two sections namely listen and answer, and listen and repeat. All of
the pre-listening activities were whole-class activities or peer group. There were three sections in the while-listening. They were listen and number, listen and
classify, and listen and colour. In the post-listening, the students were asked to do the task and sang together. The complete activities in the first meeting can be seen
on the field note in the appendix E2.
