lxxxix word; it is deleted in the TL. Here, the participants are Casanova and Lord Papprizzio,
a rich merchant from Genoa. Even though Casanova is also from a respectable family, however, in this situation, the social status of Lord Papprizzio is higher than Casanova.
Therefore, the deletion strategy applied by the translator can reduce the formality of the utterance. It would be better if the subtitler translates it into Anda or Tuan. Then,
the translation of the dialogue would be, Mereka tidak memberitahu TuanAnda? Hotel Grifasi ditutup.

B. The Strategies in Translating Kinship Terms
xc In this classification, there are 8 data of kinship terms as can be seen in the
table 13. Most of the terms are translated with their similar meaning strategy in the target language.. However, there are 2 data from the Italian kinship terms which still
used transference strategy or still kept the form of the source language. They are papá and mama. The details can be seen in the table 4.12,

Below are the detail explanation of the strategy in translating kinship terms,
B.1 English Kinship Terms Translated into Indonesian Kinship Terms
Translating English kinship terms into Indonesian kinship terms means that the subtitler is using similar meaning strategy. Here, the form of English kinship terms are
mother and mom. They are translated into Indonesian kinship term, Ibu. Here are the
example of this strategy, Example:
SL: Mother, I don’t want to marry him. TL: Ibu, aku ta k ingin menikahinya.
xci 044CsvD116:01
The above example is found in one part of the movie in which Francesca tried to refuse her mother’s decision. Her fiancé would come on the
following day, whereas in fact, she didn’t like her fiancé at all since they are never met each other. As seen, mother which refers to francesca mother named Mrs. Bruni
uttered by Francesca is translated into Ibu. Here, the subtitler translates it into a familial Indonesian kinship term to address mother, Ibu. Here, the participants of the
dialogue are between Francesca and her mother. Based on the story which sets in the past time, they are from a high class society. The term which is used by high class
society in Indonesia in the past to show a great respect is Bunda. However, since the relationship between Francesca and her mother are quite closer, the subtitler tends to
use the term Ibu in the subtitle.

B.2 Italian Kinship Terms Translated into Italian Kinship Terms
Translating Italian kinship terms into Italian kinship terms too means that the subtitler is using transference strategy, a strategy that present the local color
atmosphere of the SL to the TL and give respect for the SL country’s culture. From the
xcii movie I found the term papá and mama. Below is the example of the strategy in this
kind form of address, Example:
SL: I want him, please, please, Papá. I’ll never be happy without him. TL: Aku menginginkannya. Aku mohon, Papá. Aku takkan bahagia tanpa
dirinya. 056CsvD118:29
The above example is found in one part of the movie in which Victoria begged to her father to change his mind and accepted Casanova’s proposal. Here, Casanova
dan his manservant, Lupo visited Signor Donato’s house to propose Signor Donato’s daughter named Victoria to marry him. Unfortunately, Signor Donato has already
known Casanova’s reputation as a notorious playboy at that time. Therefore, he refused Casanova’s proposal to marry Victoria. As seen, papá which refers to Signor
Donato uttered by Victoria is translated into papá also. The subtitler applies transference strategy by translating the familial term papá into the same form in the
target language. Actually, this term can be translated into ayahayahanda, a formal term to address male parent. However, the term papá is still maintained in the target
language since it can preserve the culture nuance of the setting of the film, Italy. Besides, this term is also known in the TL. As can be seen, some Indonesian also uses
this term to address their father. Another consideration to maintain this term is because it represents an intimacy and a close relationship but still showing a respect between
father and daughter. Table 4.14 The Situational Aspect of Translation Variations of
