Kurniawan 98 WALL. 37.2.
Eremochloa eriopoda C.E. Hubb. Hooker’s Icon. Pl. 34: t.3376. 1939.
Plants perennial, intravaginal, flabellate. Culms 40-70 cm long, erect. Sheaths keeled. Ligule an eciliate membrane, 0.2-0.7 mm long. Blades conduplicate, 10-22
cm by 2-4.5 mm, apex obtuse, the surface glabrous. Inflorescence composed of racemes. Racemes single, arcuate, unilateral, 1.5-2.5 cm long. Rachis fragile at the
nodes, subterete, glabrous on margins. Spikelet packing crowded. Rachis internodes linear, 1.5-2 mm long. Spikelets ascending, in pairs: fertile spikelets sessile, 1 in the
cluster; companion sterile spikelets pedicelled, 1 in the cluster. Pedicels linear, foliaceous, 4,5-6.5 mm long, glabrous. Fertile spikelets comprising 1 basal sterile
florets, without rhachilla extension; ovate, 4-6 mm long, dorsally compressed, falling entire; callus pubescent, base truncate, attached transversely. Sterile spikelets:
companion sterile spikelets represented by barren pedicels. Glumes dissimilar, exceeding apex of florets, firmer than fertile lemma. Lower glume ovate, as long as
spikelet, coriaceous, 2-keeled, no wings, 7-nerved; primary nerve pectinately spinose; surface convex, apex obtuse,or acute. Upper glume elliptic, coriaceous, 1-keeled,
winged on keel, 3-nerved; surface puberulous, hairy below, apex acute. Florets: basal sterile florets male, with palea; lemma elliptic, 4 mm long, hyaline, 2-nerved, ciliolate
on margins, obtuse; palea as long as lemma. Fertile lemma elliptic, 3-4 mm long, hyalines, no keel, 2-nerved, apex obtuse; palea as long as lemma, no nerved, no keels.
Anthers 3, 2 mm long.

40. EULALIA Kunth. Revis. Gramin. 1:160. 1829.
Commemorating Eulalie Delile, who made the drawings for Kunth’s Revision des Graminees.
Plants annual or perennial. Culms tufted, creeping, and branching at the base. Inflorescence composed of 2 to many racemes, all attached near the top of the main
axis. Rachis of racemes rather slender, jointed, internodes bearing many spreading hairs. Spikelets in pairs, 1 sessile, 1 pedicelled, or in three’s, 1 sessile, 2 pedicelled,
the pedicelled separately deciduous. Glumes almost similar, hairy, or not. Lower glume flat, 2-keeled. Upper glume 3-keeled on the median nerve. Lower floret
reduced to the lemma. Upper floret fertile, lemma usually short, translucent, bi-lobed, awned. Stamens 3.

Plants perennial, caespitose, rhizomes short, sometimes stoloniferous. Culms
20-45 cm long, erect, wiry. Nodes glabrous. Sheaths 2-3.5 cm long, glabrous on surface. Ligule a ciliolate membrane. Blades 4-7 cm by 2-4 mm, apex acuminate, the
surface glabrous, midrib indistinct. Inflorescence composed of 2-4 racemes, subdigitately arranged and well exserted from the sheath. Racemes 3-9 cm long.
