paralyzed. Savannah, anehnya
aku merasa lumpuh.
i. Transposition
The datum above has one strategy, which is transposition. The strategy is applied in the part I felt oddly paralyzed, which becomes anehnya aku merasa
lumpuh. The position of the adverb oddly is changing. In the ST, the word oddly is after the verb felt, while in the TT, it is placed before the subject, I. Even
though the position changes, the meaning does not. This strategy is needed because when the word oddly in the TTstays in the same postion as the ST then
it will be strange and not acceptable. The adveb oddly is placed even before the subject in the TT to describe how the main character, John, respond or think
about his feeling to Savannah.

Sub., Trans., Syn.,
The datum above has three strategies applied. Those are:
i. Subtraction
This strategy is applied in the sentence I reached for her hand and in the TT, it becomes aku meraih tangan Savannah. In the ST, the word reached is
followed with the phrasal verb for, but when it is translated into Bahasa Indonesia, the phrasal verb reached for is not translated separately.
ii. Transposition
The second strategy applied is transposition. It can be seen in the phrase her hand which translated becomes tangan Savannah. This transposition is done
because of the different structure between the ST and the TT. In the ST, the head of the phrase is placed after the possessive pronoun, while in the TT, the position
is reversed.
iii. Synonym
The last strategy in the datum is synonym. This strategy is applied in the sentence her touch making me feel all was right with the world. The part all was
right with the world becomes dunia ini berputar dengan mulus in the TT. KBBI defines the word mulus asbersih; halus; tanpa cacat; lancar; tidak ada
halangan; dapat berjalan baik, while according to OALD, right means in a normal or good condition. Basically, the words right and mulus has quite same
basic concept about anything which runs well, flawless, good, and correct. Therefore, instead of translate it into semua yang ada di dunia ini baik-baik saja,
the translator tend to beautify the sentence.
