The subtraction is in the sentence I’m here which is translated as aku ada
di sini. The auxiliary am is omitted in the TT because of the different structure. So that, the sentence
I’m here is acceptable to be translated into aku ada di sini. iv.
Modulation
The last strategy is modulation. It is applied in the sentence it almost feels like we’re together again and translated into aku nyaris merasa seakan-
akan kami tengah bersama lagi. The word it becomes aku in the TT. It is because the translator wants to emphasize that it is John who feels like the
y‟re together again, and it is not only the atmosphere or circumstance of staring the
moon together which makes like they‟re together again. So, instead of literally translating it, the translator prefers to transfer it into aku.

There are three strategies applied in the datum. Those are:
i. Omission
It is on the phrase my duffel bag which is translated into tas. The words my and duffel are omitted. The word my is to show the possessive pronoun of the
bag itself, then the word duffel, based on OALD, is a kind of a bag made out of cloth, shaped like a tube and closed by a string around the top and it is usually
carried over the shoulder. By omitting the words my and duffel, the translation will get briefer, the main point does not change as well because by deleting the
word my and duffel, the TT readers still can understand what the author is talking about. Without explaining about whose bag that is, the readers is automatically
notice that the bag is John‟s, while the word duffel is only the name or the type of the bag, which is not affected the main point of the whole datum.
ii. Synonym
It is in the phrase my arms. That phrase is translated into pelukanku. These two words are synonymous, because according to OALD, arm means
either of the two long parts that stick out from the top of the body and connect the shoulders to the hands. While the word pelukan according to KBBI is an
embrace with two hands; and OALD also defines hug pelukan as an act of putting your arms around somebody and holding them tightly, especially to
show that you like or love them. As the result, those definitions show that a hug can be done using the two arms. So here, arms and hug are related, and they are
synonymous since the context in the datum is also quite clear, which is she jumped into my arms, and it will be impossible for the translator to translate it
into dia melompat ke kedua lenganku. It will be unacceptable and not understandable.
iii. Transposition
The last strategy is transposition. There are three phrases use this strategy. The first phrase is magic kingdom, which translated into kerajaan
magis. The second is special language and geography which becomes bahasa dan geografi istimewa, and the last phrase is fabulous myths and it is translated
into mitos-mitos menakjubkan. All of those three phrases change the position of the adjective. The head of the phrases are switched to the beginning of the
phrases, and the position of the modifier are in the end of the phrases, so that the heads are explained in detail by the adjectives followed.
