4.6 Zoning Strategy Based on SWOT Analysis
MCA Pasi Island analyzed using the SWOT approach strength, weakness, opportunity and threat based on internal and external factors that influence it. SWOT analysis is used to assist in the preparation of multiple-use zoning strategy, to avoid conflicts zoning determination. This analysis is based on the logic that can maximize the strength and opportunities but simultaneously to minimize the weakness and threats.4.6.1 Strength
Identification of Internal Factors 1. Southwest side of the island sites no. 3, 4, 5 and 9 of coral observations suitable to be used as the core zone of MCA. Sites no. 3, 4, 5 and 9 have a very appropriate criteria, based on the calculation of the core zone conformity with the percentage of live coral cover 56-72.83. 2. Northern and East Pasi Island, suitable to be used as the mariculture location of stand cage and floating cages. The north and east of that island, has a good condition value to be used as mariculture zone such as stand cage and floating cages. 3. South, West and North side of that island sites no. 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of coral observations suitable for marine tourism. The result of marine tourism suitability index calculation shows the level is very suitable to serve as a marine tourism zone 4. . It has been a Marine Protected Area MPA, which was initiated by the community and COREMAP. Marine protected areas MPA in Bontolebang village initiated by local communities and COREMAP II in 2007 .Parts
