Dewan Komisaris menyadari bahwa Antam adalah perusahaan yang mengolah dan mengelola sumber daya alam, untuk itu kami mendorong agar kegiatan eksplorasi terus ditingkatkan supaya ketersediaan cadangan tetap terjaga. Khusus untuk pencarian cadangan komoditas emas, kami menyetujui disediakannya anggaran lebih dari Rp110 miliar dalam tahun ini, yang semuanya digunakan untuk eksplorasi di dalam negeri mengingat

As the production of ferronickel plant in Pomalaa continues to improve, we therefore agreed to commence the construction of Steam Power Plant to reduce production cost, thus to anticipate the increase in fuel price. Aside from these projects, we also granted our support for the construction of Smelter Grade Alumina (SGA) plant in Mempawah, West Kalimantan, which will utilize Antam’s bauxite reserves. The SGA plant will serve as an ideal source of raw materials for the Inalum plant in North Sumatra whose ownership will be turned over to the Indonesian government in 2013.

As we consolidate the implementation of project plans, we acknowledge the Directors for their initiative in bond issuance, which has successfully raised Rp3 trillion within the first phase. The funds will be allocated to finance the modernization and optimization projects of ferronickel plant in Pomalaa. Subsequently, in view of numerous projects and the allocated funds, the Board of Commissioners constantly advise stringent monitoring to these projects so as to ensure an efficient and effective utilization of investment funds in accordance with the project’s timetable.

We believe that in 2011, aside from registering a positive performance, Antam has made legitimate corporate action in investments for the future.

The Board of Commissioners has evaluated management’s remarkable performances for 2011, and for that reason we would like to express our highest appreciation towards Antam’s achievements. Yet, the ongoing improvement on several aspects by the management required further attention, particularly in human resources quality enhancement as well as efficiency enhancement and operational quality.

As we all aware, Antam engages in natural resource exploration and processing. To that end, we encourage the Company to continuously intensify exploration activities to ensure the suntainability of adequate reserves. For gold exploration in particular, we have approved a budget of over Rp110 billion this year, which will be allocated for domestic exploration given gold’s potential in Indonesia as

a commodity that continues to possess bright prospects.

potensi komoditas emas di wilayah Indonesia masih memiliki prospek yang baik. Meskipun eksplorasi emas diprioritaskan, eksplorasi komoditas nikel, bauksit, batubara dan mineral industri juga tetap mendapat perhatian kami, hal ini terlihat dengan alokasi anggaran sebesar lebih dari Rp70 miliar.

Dewan Komisaris sangat menginginkan Antam menjadi pelopor dalam dunia pertambangan yang terintegrasi hingga produksi akhir yang dapat mengolah cadangannya dalam negeri sesuai dengan amanah Undang-Undang Nomor 4 tahun 2009, dan pada akhirnya akan memberi nilai tambah bagi perusahaan dan Negara, berupa imbal hasil dan terbukanya lapangan kerja.

Dewan Komisaris telah menelaah prospek usaha Antam yang disusun Direksi untuk tahun 2012 bahwa industri pertambangan akan tetap positif dan optimis dengan prospek usaha di bidang pertambangan masih tetap bagus, khususnya untuk bisnis inti Antam di tahun mendatang. Melihat tingkat pertumbuhan kinerja Antam tahun 2011, Dewan Komisaris berpendapat bahwa prospek usaha yang telah dituangkan dalam target kinerja merupakan target yang cukup menjanjikan dan realistis untuk Antam.
