Bogor, 21-22 October 2015 393 In Indonesia, agarwoods widely grown in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, Irian, and a part of West Java Chakrabarty, Kumar, Menon, 1994. In West Nusa Tenggara Province, Gyrinops verstegii Gilg Domke grows on the hillside 400-800m above sea level Mulyaningsih Yamada, 2007. In 1979, H. Arpan began to search for and collect the seed timber in the forest, then sowing before planting. With the help of the Forest Service in West Lombok reforestation efforts using seed G. versteegii Gilg Domke were planted by H. Arpan Anwar, 2008. Now, many of community have initiative to cultivate Gyrinops verstegii Gilg Domke in their field. Support of research to cultivate this species in the form silviculture technique has been done, like in the natural forest of Pusuk, Lombok Hadi, 2009. Development of G. versteegii in Lombok that was do government or community in the future constrained with unavailable of information about distribution of this species that was cultivated as well as information about geophysic condition of land that suitable for this species development. Therefore, this study is intended to produce initial information about distribution of G. versteegii Gilg Domke cultivation and potential land for developing of this species in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. 2. EXPERIMENTAL METHOD 2.1 Location and Material The study was conducted from 2010 to 2011 in Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The materials used in the research were G. verstegii Domke cultivation in various age and location.

2.2. Methods The research was divided into several phases of activities Figure 1.

Type of sampling method that used in the survey was purposive sampling. The large of sampling area is 400 – 1000 m 2 . In this study, geophysical data that was obtained from sample location i.e. elevation and soil texture, and as well as rainfall data that is obtained from Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics was used to be matched with contour map, soil map and rainfall map of Lombok island. Matching process based on table of FAO agriculture plant group with modification. Potential land for development of Gyrinops versteegii was classified in accordance with suitability of site characteristic and basic map of Lombok Island. When all factors were appropriate will be classified as a potential land, if there was one or two factors did not appropriate will be classified as a land classes with certain constraint factor. If these all factors are not suitable means to became class land that was not potential to developing this species.
