White oyster mushroom P.ostreatus is the most preferable cultivated as edible mushroom in the world. The white oyster mushroom has high nutrient, good taste,big and well shape, also have high economic value on the market Budiarti, 2013. The growth factor of P.ostreatus is the suitability of planting medium. The rate growth of mycelia and fruit bodies were strongly influenced by raw material that used as cultivation medium. Various types of materials have been tested as a P.ostreatus cultivation media, including a waste material from the main product. Until now, sawdust is one of the favorite used by white oyster mushroom farmer. Another kind of materials have been used for cultivation media were sugarcane bagasse Ginting et al, 2013, Grevillearobusta leaves Alemu, 2014, bahia grass and banana stalk Siquiera et al., 2011, rice straw and wheat straw Shah et al., 2004, soybean straw Patil et al., 2010 and cassava peel Amunekeet al., 2011. Most of cultivated media for white oyster mushroom are lignocellulosic. The utilization of coco coir and the jabon seed extraction waste as cultivation media for P.ostreatus are seen promising to increase the utility value of agroforestry waste and increase people income by its productivity. Both coconut and Jabon are leading agroforestry commodities that the waste is not optimally use. The research try to increase agroforestry waste utilization value by using it as cultivation media for white oyster mushroom.The purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of agroforestry waste as cultivation media for white oyster mushroom. The final outcome of this activity is the application of white oyster mushroom cultivation by the public as agroforestry waste utilization. 2. EXPERIMENTAL METHOD 2.1 Place and Time The research was conducted in January to April 2015 in The Laboratory of Forestry Research Institute of Manado. 2.2 Material and methods 2.2.1 Material The material used in this research was divided into two categories. First, the White oyster mushroom P.ostreotus as the target organism to cultivate.P.ostreatus from Makassar comercial mushroom cultivation was isolated in com medium. The other material for cultivate media, which is derivatives from agroforestry waste were coco coir and jabon seed extraction waste the residue of jabon seed extraction. 2.2.2 Media preparation There are two types of cultivation media, compose with the main material and additionalmaterial. The ratio composition are explained below: a. Ratio composition for Coco coir media Coco coir: wheat bran: CaCO 3 = 100 : 20 : 1, water 60 b. Ratio composition for Jabon seed extraction waste Jabon seed extraction waste : wheat bran : CaCO3 = 100 : 20 :1, water 60 2.2.3 Sterilization and inoculation of mushroom All media were filled into the heat resistant plastic bag, and it namely colonize bag or τbag- log”. Each colonize bag is contains of 700 gr weight. The colonize bag was sterilized using Bogor, 21-22 October 2015 673 autoclave on 121 o C, 1atm pressure. After cooling stage, the media were inoculated with P.ostreatus F2 as seed. Each colonize bag contains 15 seeds. The colonize bag was tied using plastic pipe and cover it with paper. All the colonize bags were incubated in the dark place with 27 o C-28 o C for three weeks. 2.2.4 Cultivation condition After the colonize bag were full with mycelia during incubation, then the bag-logs were transferred to the cropping room kumbung. The cropping room environment was kept illuminated by sunlight, good air circulation and humidity. Watering was done twice a day in the morning and afternoon, it because the weather of Manado mostly warm with temperature about 30 o C. 2.2.5 Harvesting The harvesting of mushroom was done after the formation of mushroom has been completed. Formation of complete mushroom, especially its body fruit was occurred one week after the colonize bag has been transferred into the cropping room. 2.3 Data Analysis Data analysis was conducted using mann-whitney test and description of quantitative comparison. 3.
